Marit Colorwork Mittens with Carol Johnson (4 sessions)
5:30pm-7:00pm May 19th, June 2nd, June 16th, June 30th
Discover the joy of colorwork with the Marit Mittens by Skeindeer Knits using just two 50g skeins of DK-weight yarn. These mittens are a quick and satisfying knit, perfect for gift-giving or adding a handmade touch to your winter wardrobe. This class is ideal for knitters who are comfortable with the basics and are ready to explore stranded colorwork techniques in a supportive setting.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - you must know how to do the long-tail cast-on, knit and purl. Schedule an additional appointment prior to the class if you need to brush-up on these skills. Class will introduce increases and knitting in the round as well as stranded colorwork.
We request that materials are purchased at Spry Whimsy Fiber Arts. The pattern requires two contrasting 50g (or more) skeins of DK-weight yarn to achieve 22 stitches per 4 inches in stockinette stitch in the round after being washed and blocked. You may consult us in the store prior to the class to start your swatch if desired, but swatching will be covered in the first class.
Pattern available for purchase online or in the store here:
